There’s nothing like music that can express emotion, communicate hope, and inspire change. Now, it may not have felt quite like that as your elementary band and strings students were practicing at home, but in the last few days, there united efforts to prepare for upcoming concerts have put rhythm and spirit into our school days. Our students are laying a foundation for a lifetime of music making, music appreciation, and music connection.
Don’t forget. The Strings concert is on Tuesday, Feb. 7th at Lanier MS at 7:00 pm.
Here are some quick hits from our world of band for their upcoming concert and some pictures of both band and strings.
*The band concert is Thursday, February 16th, 2012 at 1:45PM and 7PM in Providence’s gym.
*The band is comprised of 125 band members who play the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba and percussion.
*We began working on our entertaining and diverse program just before winter break after only 10 weeks of instruction.
*We will be performing six pieces which show various fundamentals learned and standards achieved.
*In preparation for our performance, we will have only one full-band rehearsal on Tuesday, February 14th from 12:30-2PM in the gym.
*For some students, it is their first time ever performing with an ensemble in public.
Thank you to everyone for supporting our students’ love of music. Good luck everyone and keep practicing! You are already sounding great!
